Plus same-day on NCR pads, menus, certificates, programmes, conference name badges, presentation folders and stationery refreshes. Whatever is on the file, we will tell you on the call whether it makes the same-day cutoff or whether the right answer is next-day. We do not give soft promises. Send post@cityimages.co.uk with the brief or phone the studio for the quote in minutes.
What is the latest I can send my artwork?
It depends on the job. The honest answer is that cutoff is product-and-quantity-specific, and the most useful thing we can give you on the phone is a yes or no for your exact spec, not a single time stuck to the wall. Realistic windows on a clean print-ready PDF, no revisions:
If the file needs colour conversion, layer flattening or font outlining at the counter, send it an hour or two earlier than the above so the artwork team have time. We do not give soft promises on the phone. For multi-revision artwork rounds, fabric exhibition panels needing the overnight dye-sub cure, perfect-bound books, custom carpentry or electrics builds, and bespoke duplexed stocks over 550gsm, the right answer is next-day or 48-hour at minimum. We will say which group the job is in before we take the deposit.
Collection, courier, or install, three ways same-day work leaves the studio
Walk in to either studio. Mayfair at 8 Avery Row, W1K, two minutes from Bond Street, open weekdays 9am to 6pm. Camden at 23-27 King's Terrace, NW1, five minutes from Camden Town, open weekdays 9am to 6pm. Collection is free. The walk-in window for same-day work is from when your job comes off the press, typically late afternoon, until close. If the studio is shut by the time the work is ready, we hold it for next-morning collection at no charge.
London same-day courier. We book a dedicated rider on the work. Most of zone 1 and zone 2 reaches the recipient within 90 minutes of collection from Camden. The courier is quoted on the job, typically £15 to £40 in central London depending on distance and timing. We will give you the exact figure on the quote, not an estimate.
In-house install at the venue. For exhibition and event work at ExCeL, Olympia, BDC, QEII Centre, RHS Halls or OXO Tower, our own fitters install the printed stand, dress the booth, and leave it ready for your team. No sub-contracting. The crew who printed the job installs the job. We arrange access with the venue's build-day organiser. Phone Camden on 020 7874 1900 to brief the production manager directly when the install window is tight.

Every same-day print at City Images runs on 90% FSC-approved stock through our digital presses, which use no plates, no chemicals and no make-ready sheets. We hold a company-wide target of carbon neutral operations by 2029 and recycle every offcut, edge trim and waste sheet through FirstMile, with monthly and annual reports. Digital is the lowest-waste print process available, by design. Bring an unused finished item back to the studio at end-of-life and we will route it through FirstMile rather than the skip.

Call us directlyYes. Send a print-ready file in the morning and the cards are ready for collection from our Mayfair or Camden studio the same afternoon, often within around 90 minutes of file clearance. We run on 350gsm silk as the standard same-day stock, with single or double-sided printing in full colour. Premium stocks (Colorplan, Mohawk, GF Smith) and shorter foil-and-emboss runs are also same-day. Larger volumes or full traditional foil block ship next-day.
Walk in to our Mayfair studio at 8 Avery Row in W1K, or our Camden studio at 23-27 King's Terrace in NW1. Send the file by mid-afternoon and we print, mount if needed, and have the poster ready for collection that afternoon. A4 through to 2.4 metres wide, on paper, vinyl, fabric, foamex, correx, dibond or rigid board. Walk-ins are not required for same-day, but a phone call ahead helps us hold the stock for the spec you want.
It depends on the product and the run size. Business cards on a clean file: any time before mid-afternoon for same-day collection. Posters, flyers and document work: clean file by 3pm. Mounted boards, foil cards and saddle-stitched booklets: clean file by lunchtime. Small roller banner runs can be accepted as late as 5pm because the press, finish and pack on a single banner is fast. If the file needs colour conversion, layer flattening, font outlining or any rework, send it an hour or two earlier than the above. We confirm yes or no on the first minute of the call.
Same-day work at City Images is priced on the standard sheet rate plus the courier or collection cost if you need delivery. There is no rush surcharge. Roller banners from £99, pop-up display systems from £319. Business cards, flyers, posters, document printing and specialty work are quoted per spec, usually returned within minutes by email.
Both. Walk-in collection from either studio is free, weekdays 9am to 6pm. A London same-day courier reaches central London within around two hours of collection from Camden, typically £15 to £40 depending on distance, quoted on the job. We deliver across all London postcodes the same day where time allows, including Canary Wharf, Notting Hill, Chelsea, Kensington, Fulham, Brixton, Clapham, Greenwich and Stratford as standard, with Greater London beyond reachable depending on order time. For exhibition work, our own fitters install at ExCeL, Olympia, BDC, QEII Centre, RHS Halls and OXO Tower.
Print-ready PDF is the preferred format, CMYK colour with three millimetres of bleed and outlined fonts. We also accept InDesign packages, Photoshop files (layered or flat), high-resolution JPEG and TIFF, and EPS. Microsoft Word and Powerpoint files need a clean-up pass at the file-check desk, which adds time. The artwork team will tell you on submission whether the file needs a fix or runs straight to press.
The Camden floor closes at 6pm Monday to Friday. We do not run a night shift on standard work. For jobs that miss the same-day window, the work runs first thing the following morning with collection or delivery from around 11am. Saturday production is available by arrangement for booked-in event and exhibition work, arranged directly with the production manager at Camden on 020 7874 1900. Genuinely overnight work (printed and finished for a next-morning install at a venue) is occasionally possible for booked-in exhibition projects, again via Camden direct.
Yes. Our in-house install crew fits printed stands, exhibition graphics, retail POS and signage at ExCeL, Olympia, BDC, QEII Centre, RHS Halls, OXO Tower and other central-London venues. The same team that printed the work installs the work. No sub-contracting. Phone Camden on 020 7874 1900 with the build-day brief and we arrange venue access.
Yes. The presses are the same digital and large-format kit, the stocks come from the same suppliers (Conqueror, Colorplan, Mohawk, GF Smith, Premier, Antalis, Fedrigoni), and the colour profile is the same managed CMYK with Pantone matching to under 2 dE. The only difference is that same-day rules out specialty processes that physically take longer (fabric cure, die foiling, perfect-bind, duplex over 550gsm). Everything else runs identically.
We catch most problems at the artwork check before the press runs. The team flags low resolution, missing bleed, incorrect colour mode, wrong stock spec, and trapping errors before we commit to print. If you approve the proof and the result is not as expected on a CI error, we re-print at no charge. If the file as supplied is the source of the issue, we will say so on the call and offer the fastest fix.
Yes. Agencies and design studios with recurring same-day work get a dedicated account contact, a held card on file for one-call ordering, and the file-check team flagging trends across repeat jobs. Quote-to-press times shrink to minutes once the account is set up. Email post@cityimages.co.uk to open an account or phone Mayfair to speak to the team that handles agency work.
Yes. Event and PR producers are a significant share of our same-day work, particularly in the run-up to product launches, brand activations and press previews. We have printed POS, exhibition graphics, branded backdrops, presentation gifts, conference name badges and signage on same-day briefs across luxury retail, fashion, beauty, financial services and hospitality. Past clients include Barclays, Victoria's Secret, Penhaligon's, Molton Brown, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Ted Baker, Swarovski and Deloitte, alongside many other London brands across most consumer and professional sectors. Phone Camden on 020 7874 1900 to brief the production manager directly when the install needs to be in place the following morning.
